The events in July was me being overly tired and pulling a few overnighters for Amecon. Me and my friends had decided to do a group cosplay from the videogame Overwatch. Thinking about it, I didn't know who suggested it but even though I don't own a copy of the game but I love the character designs so much to know name them. In my research in picking a character I liked enough to pour my blood, sweat, and tears into. Watching all the character's shorts, Sombra was the one that appealed to me the most. There's a computer hacker correlation between my last cosplay Futaba from Persona 5 and Sombra!

I spent majority of my time on the submachine and translocator props and plus I had taken a commission of creating Reaper's jacket and chest piece. What I have taken up? The last week before the con, only just finished Reaper's stuff and pattern cut my skirt and jacket within two days. Even at the hotel room, I was still sewing and contact glueing pieces together. Luckily I got enough stuff done to actually go to sleep at 12 unlike my room mate who was still brought her sewing machine and other equipment into the hotel room. They were still up until 4am! They were worried about waking me up as they said they kept on dropping the glue gun. I can sleep through any sounds and not even a doorbell could me stir in the past and my room at the time was the closest to the front door..

Amecon was my first time going, the place was nice and spent more time in the hotel room putting the cosplays on and missed out on a few events and panels. Wearing Sombra was harder as the collars felt like a pet funnel and hot around the neck. I had good ability to walk and go up steps unlike my friends in the cosplay group. I forgot that my uni friends are regulars to this con and met up with them after like 6 years of absence. One I forgot they can talk for days and struggle to get a word in each way and in the end I just chased them around trying to lift them. It was fairly comical as I was dressed as Mayuri Shiina from Steins Gate and they were Taiga from Kuroko no Basket.

Thinking about, lots of my friends already attended this con before and bumping into a lot of them was nice in each way. I felt more social than my pre-con and work months. When the con was over, I napped throughout the day. Exhausted for a week and went to sleep a lot earlier than the norm. Not helped with my sibling visiting me and a family member killing a plant with intent after telling them only to water them. One job. My emotions were fairly erratic in the last week of July alone.

I'll post August update soon.

It's July and I haven't been here for few months again due to work and cosplay stuff. There has been a lot of wood carving within that time period and my right hand aches. After all the hours, I finally get a splitter today and bending my fingers feels weird. Focusing on the overwatch props and pieces on the costumes:

1. Reaper's back spine things on the jacket.
2. Sombra's submachine gun.
3. Sombra's hacking back piece.

Also painting vinyl/pleather with acrylic paints mixed with acetone (nail varnish remover). Finding the correct shades is impossible when it's a strange type of blue and dark purple-ish blue. It's less than a month until the con and seriously feeling the pressure. The heat is unbearable, even at 8am in the morning...

It's been a while since my last post and trying to write this on my mobile for the first time. Time seems to slip away so easily at the moment.

Let's see...playing Monster Hunter World and just finished Chaos;Child the last few months. Personally I'm quite attached to hunting monsters for armour and lots of mixed sets which isn't what I had in mind as I'm used to being a fashion hunter. Reached over HR100 and need to complete the last optional quest of the three elder monsters. The walls in this game had been the Kirin HR49 and the event quest Deviljho HR50. Other than that and mining for stream stones and gems (Teostra's ones hardly drop at all for me -_-)

Mentioned Chaos; Child which I actually won the digital version on social media and planned to get. The story kept me hooked and actually hid underneath a blanket when a certain scene with the visual novel image moving towards the screen...the sound effects are so realistic reminds me of the zero escape game, '999.' I didn't know what to expect but murder and delusions were not one of them. Thoroughly surprised but managed to work out the last twist in one of the endings. The ost are so good that I had to have on my music list.

Cosplay-wise it's Sombra from Overwatch for a con that I have never attended before and a group cosplay too with friends. The hair is my main trouble and plan to resolve it with using fake fur to pretend it's hair as it's like shaven on one side of her head. Progress has been slow and the weather has only gotten a bit warmer. We had a couple of weeks of snow earlier this year.

The current weather is forced me into living mainly one room as the entire house is colder than outside. Im so glad that portable radiators exists and to be more able to do activities. Plus it's not worth to heat the whole house by myself.

The best thing I got from the Black Friday sale is my new phone. It was begining to be hellish living on a 8GB phone with no external SD card slot. Just wondering how I managed stay on the same handset for at least 2 years and it was a second hand one too. It's probably the first time that I actually got a brand new phone instead of family giving me their old technologies (even my mp3 player is my siblings old one!) My mindset with tech, I won't replace it until it breaks or becoming a hassle to use. The 32GB is heaven and I have no worries in downloading Animal crossing that everyone is talking about.

The Monster Hunter World Beta is coming next month for a brief while and not long until the 2018 launch. I have already pre-ordered the limited edition, recalling the early morning waiting until midnight before going to see Distant Worlds on the 4th. It wasn't up then but only appeared like a day later online. There was a special Final Fantasy 30th pop up store in London too on the Friday. It opened at 10am, me and a friend went straight from the station to line up for it. It took until 2pm to get in because a set number people were allowed in and they were in there for about 30 mins for each group. Personally not played a main series Final Fantasy since X. I said that I wouldn't get a plushie, however, there was a moggle so chubby and fluuuffy...I was weak to his charms XD (My friend got the cactuar).

Just before going to Distant Worlds event, we went around a few places and got some desserts from Harrod's. Deciding that I would eat my pudding later and there was a threatening group of around 5-6 males aging around early to mid 20s. They were wearing cheap paper character masks from old comedians to children's film characters. We could see they were up to no good and our guard was up. One of them just screamed in face and that really annoyed me, so I lashed out to hit the offender on the shoulder. What I should of done is taken his mask off but I was such a foul mood afterwards. I'll remember day for the rest of my life for the wrong reasons.

Resuming the DW event, our seat were in a box and the previous time I came to the last one. We were on the side ground floor seating and had to crane our necks to see the stage well. I brought my moggle with me too AKA Chestnut Cream, after trying to find that flavour of dessert. I spotted my other friend after messaging each other on social media who was across from us in the upper box seats. That was fun and waving my moggle in their general direction! Afterward, we caught the bus back and the dessert that I said that I would have later. Turns out it had melted since it was a chilled one, still tasty though.

One of the big changes to my appearance is my dramatical short haircut as I was getting sick of long hair. It must be around 13 inches that was lopped off from the nape of my neck. I didn't miss it and it's just washing it was a bit funny as there's not much to wash. So in that week, I was shocking my work colleages for a while since we are all on different shift patterns. One of the managers was heavily rubbing my hair like a pet..

It's been a while, I had lots going on with a new job and turning my old sibling's room into my sewing quarters! I personally destroyed their bed in the process as it was old (Lots of good material to be salvaged!) It was a pain to clear all the blue tact from the walls and the ceilings, some have become tacky and weird consisteny. It didn't help with glow stars covering a vast area of the ceiling and illumated the room when the lights were turned off.

I swear it took two days to get rid of everything that belonged in that room. But it was worth it as my previous sewing area was hidden behind a sofa in the living room. I do wonder how I manage to complete nine commissoned outfits for a wedding?!

The game that's currently holding my attention is Monster Hunter Stories. I like the visuals and general style of the game, already decided on next year's cosplay. Cheval in the Azure Rathalos armour, finally male armour that doesn't completely cover from head to toe. At this moment in time, I'm carving the necklace accessory (yes I'm that keen on it).

Two events that I have attended was Dave Gorman's Life is Goodish and the Japan Matsuri event in London. Enjoyed both and a treat to experience! Comic Con is at the end of October and cosplaying as Futaba Sakura (winter) from Persona 5. Constructed a screen printing frame just for her t-shirt print. It breaks my heart to see the stencil getting ruined to due to the single use of tracing paper. I tried plastic but the pattern was so fiddly and in the end broke the sheet instead...Not too bad after printing on the shirt, slight bleeding and my rough cutting out kind of added to the effect. I haven't screen printed for many years, probably since school.
